Bridgestone Europe announced today (Sept. 22) that it will be rolling out a new round of price increases across Europe throughout the 2011 fourth quarter. Depending on the country and the product category, prices will variably increase starting from Oct. 1, by an average of: 4 percent for agricultural tires and 5 percent for winter passenger, light-truck and 4x4 tires. Commenting on the announcement, Mitsuhira Shimazaki, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Bridgestone Europe, said that these two product groups "still require efforts to fully compensate for the raw-material hikes that we have suffered in the last two years."
